Scotiabank Girls HockeyFest Manitoba is coming to Brandon!
Monday, February 20th @ Kinsmen Arena
Scotiabank has teamed up with Hockey Manitoba to offer an event focused on creating a positive hockey experience for girls in Manitoba. Development opportunities are provided for Players, Coaches and Officials in a fun and interactive environment.
The event will include on-ice instruction by some of Canada’s gold-medal winning female Olympians plus additional on ice help from various female athletes and instructors in Manitoba.
Other benefits include door prizes, lunch, jerseys, a gift bag as well as a meet ‘n greet autograph session with featured Olympians. All this and other off-ice activities are provided to participants at absolutely NO COST!
Here’s a look at the day:
Novice/Atom/Peewee Skills Development
7:45 am – Registration Begins
8:45 am – 12:30 pm Rotating groups to participate in each of the following:
- On–ice skills session
- Off–ice skills session
- Classroom Session
12:30 pm – 2:00 pm - Autograph / Guest Speaker Session & Lunch
2:00 pm – Session Over
Novice/Atom/Peewee Goaltender Skills Development
11:30 am – Registration Begins
12:30 pm – 2:00 pm Autograph / Guest Speaker Session & Lunch
2:30 pm – 4:45 pm Group to participate in each of the following:
- On–ice skills session
- Off–ice skills session
4:45 pm – Session Over
PLEASE NOTE GOALTENDERS MAY REGISTER IN ONE OF THE GOALTENDER DEVELOPMENT SESSIONS AS WELL AS ONE OF THE PLAYER DEVELOPMENT SESSIONS (IN THEIR APPLICABLE AGE CATEGORY)
A few quick reminders:
- Players are required to wear full equipment for on–ice skills development sessions.
- Due to space limitations, we ask that only one parent assist the participant with equipment in the dressing room area.
- For off–ice sessions, activities will involve team building exercises. Participants are encouraged to bring or wear active wear such as:
- Running shoes/cross trainers
- Track pants/wind suit
- T–shirt
- Players should bring their own labeled water bottle for use throughout the day.
